Texas Holdem Poker Rules 1st round

Immediately, after the deal, the first round of betting takes place. The player who is in the very left of the big blind has to speak first. In the games which are not being played in tournament, he is allowed to choose to be a third Blind by means of placing a bet of double amount in comparison to the cards dealt by the Big Blind. This refers to the Straddle. The benefit of this straddling for the Straddler is, he gets the opportunity to speak at last in the first betting round that enables him taking the bets of all other players into consideration.

The first player going to speak who is immediately on the left of the Straddler or Big Blind has three alternative: to call, to raise or to fold.

For calling, the player has to place a bet, which is equivalent to the Straddle or Big Blind.

For raising, the player has to add some extra money. The size of this extra money varies with the variety of game playing there: it is of a fixed amount in limit holdem games, and after the rounds which have been set earlier, it might be limited. Normally, four round are set in online poker games. It cannot be made larger than the currently available amount in the pot in pot limit holdem games whereas there may be any amount in no limit holdem games. It is only limited by the total number of chips before the player.

For folding, the player has to place his cards before him in face-down position and to push them to the center of the poker table where they constituted the mess. When any card getting into touch with the mess it is considered to become folded card. That player doesn’t allowed for taking any part further in the hand and the bets he has made will be forfeited.

Subsequent poker players are also having the similar three options, along with the option to reraise. A reraise is required to be at least equal to the size of the amount of last Raise.
